DEAGON KALTH

CHARACTER BIO

If you are to judge reality you must stand above it. Akrathil is the only fit arbitrator of existence. He is both maker and destroyer, life and death, the source and authority over all things. Only He truly understands the magnitude of this burden. Only He is worthy of Kalth’s devotion. Inquisitors of the Immortal Host are creatures of dark whispers, of pain, and of fear. They are given the right to judge as Akrathil’s proxy at all times and in all places. Even among that terrible brotherhood, Kalth was exceptional.

When Akrathil would ask an impossible task, Kalth would be the answer. Meticulous, intelligent, and devoid of pity or mercy, Kalth wields the magic of unmaking - a gift from Akrathil Himself. Even the proudest foe is humbled when Kalth smothers their abilities. While Kalth himself may not be a mighty warrior, his physical shortfalls are more than compensated for by his abilities and a long list of “allies,” willing or otherwise. Perhaps this is what has made him stand at the pinnacle of his order: he is not a man of ego, but rather a creature of faith. His belief in fulfilling Akrathil’s will is absolute.

It does not matter if he has landed the killing blow, so long as the mission is accomplished and his God’s will is done. When Akrathil disappeared most Inquisitors scattered, and the Immortal Host began to break apart, but Kalth has never wavered. When Belphegore finally played his hand and stole enough Dehvathae to fuel his misguided attempt at apotheosis, it was Kalth who organized The Last Accord to strike at Belphegore. It was his agents who misdirected Belphegore’s armies. It was his secret knowledge that allowed the Accord’s forces to lay direct siege to Belphegore’s Crawling Tower. Belphegore, in turn, claims Kalth has betrayed the Immortal Host, but it is the opposite: Kalth is serving Akrathil. He always has. He always will.
