SONG OF THE PHOENIX

CHARACTER BIO

How does one serve a dead Goddess? Can creation itself really die? As one of Zenith’s Celestial children, Song of the Phoenix is defined by these two questions, but while his uncertainty may darken his soul at times, he takes solace in the comfort he provides to others. As a Bard of the Genesis Order, he has undertaken no small task: to take a world that is consumed by darkness and make it bright again, if only for a moment, and even if it is only for those who can hear his haunting, perfect voice.

Even as a mewling babe, his cries carried a melody, and the remnants of the Genesis Order trained him to do what few mortals could ever hope to achieve: sing the Song of Creation. Manipulating the raw energies of reality, The Song of the Phoenix can mend bone or shatter it with a single note. His serene, empathetic nature inspires trust in those around him, and for this, he was selected with a singular mission: obtain a verse of the long-lost One Song, a chant so powerful that it can cause even a demon lord concern. Considering the circumstances, Belphegore seemed as good a candidate for this treatment as any other.

If Phoenix, as most call him, can accomplish this, perhaps then he can even find all of the One Song and sing it, and if that does not bring Zenith back to the world, then he will continue to serve Her memory, for life spent in Her service requires no compensation nor ending. The calling to the Last Accord gave him some small since of purpose, and in all likelihood, saved him from a slow death lost in his cups.
